A Look Inside: Ruby Street

Written by Elizabeth | Oct 16, 2026

We love when we get to the part of the build where personalities start to shine! Let's take a look at this custom home in Clarendon Hills, room by room.

The Family Room
Pale wood beams follow the vaulted ceiling up to a center ridge, and the stone fireplace rises all the way into the peak between two lit built-ins. Tall linen curtains along the glass doors let the room go from afternoon light to movie-night dim with one pull.

The Kitchen

Light oak cabinets, a marble slab backsplash and four cane-back stools at the island keep the kitchen bright, and the dining table sits just a few steps away under a slim brass chandelier. Along the wall, a black built-in bar with glass-front cabinets frames an arched niche of soft tree-print wallpaper, so whoever is pouring drinks never has to cross into the cook’s path.

The Pantry
A window over the counter gives whoever is prepping a view of the garden, framed by Shaker cabinets and a soft gray arabesque tile. The stacked Wolf ovens mean the pies can bake in here on Thanksgiving while the main kitchen stays clear.

The Laundry Room
Yes, those are four machines: two full washer and dryer towers side by side, with a sink on one side and a tall storage closet on the other. With little ones in the house, this isn’t excess. It’s math.

The Primary Vanity
Two pill-shaped mirrors, each framed by linen-shaded sconces, hang against a wall of slim vertical tile. Wall-mounted brass faucets keep the thick marble counter clear, and six fluted wood drawers give each person their own side.

The Primary Tub
The freestanding tub has its own alcove under a window that looks out on the trees, with a brass tub filler rising from the floor beside it. Built-in niches hold the bottles so nothing has to balance on the edge.

The Kids’ Bath
A blush pink vanity with scalloped trim sits under a brass octagon mirror, on a hex floor with little pink flowers worked into the tile.

The Window Seat Bedroom
Soft pink built-ins frame a cushioned window seat under a vaulted ceiling, with storage tucked below. It’s the kind of nook that gets claimed for reading at five and phone calls at fifteen.

The Desk Bedroom
Deep blue bookcases stand on either side of a window, with a built-in desk running between them and a round stool tucked underneath. The shelves are already filling up with wooden blocks, a dinosaur and a football.

The Playroom
A full wall of light gray built-ins hides toys in the lower cabinets and shows off favorites on the open shelves above. French doors close it off from the main floor, and a tall window looks right out at the hydrangeas.

The Media Room
Navy built-ins wrap around the TV, a stone counter with three stools lines one wall, and a dartboard hangs on the other. The round coffee table is set for chess and video games, which pretty much covers everyone.

The Bar
Fluted wood cabinets surround a black marble counter with bold white veining and a brass bar faucet. An antiqued mirror backsplash scatters the light, which makes it moody in the best way.
