First and foremost, we would like to thank everyone who was excited and supportive of this project. In our 20 years of homebuilding we’ve never seen such excitement around a project in such early phases, we are so grateful to the community we’ve built around us.
That being said, we are going to have to go in a different direction with our Burr Ridge development. Early in this process, in April, we were told by village officials that there was a definite need for this type of housing and recommended we move forward to the next step of village approval. We invested thousands of dollars and months of work into creating plans to help fill this need in the community. Earlier this week we spoke at a town hearing and our idea was not met with the same positive response as before.
We are saddened to hear this, but will continue to build residential homes. Instead of developing a new 55+ community, we will be building six large luxury homes on this property, per the village’s request.
We apologize to anyone who was excited about the initial project and reached out. We are sorry we won’t be able to deliver the project we hoped for, but we are excited to share with you more as this new plan develops.
