An Inside Look: July at Oakley Home Builders
Welcome Back to An Inside Look!
Our portfolio shows you our work, our social media shows our culture, An Inside Look shows you everything in between!

A Note From the Team
Everyone says the summertime is the best time to be in Chicago, we took full advantage! Between summer schedules, family travel, and the rapidly changing weather, we had a busy month on and off the sites.
On the Sites
On the construction side, July covered a lot of ground. A residential addition crossed the finish line on drywall and tile work. The build on Carleton reached insulation and mechanicals, that quieter middle phase of a project where the bones of a home start to become a building. On Ruby, foundation work was completed and framing got underway. Excavation and foundation work broke ground at both Brainard and Fuller, two new projects now officially in the works. As always, The Oaks had the most movement, with all the houses being at different phases of construction.

Off the Sites
Back in the office, we kept working to update our internal systems and marketing materials. The Oakley website continued to grow and evolve, now more heavily focusing on our process. Rendering technology continues to grow into our most helpful way to visualize homes. New project tracking tools are also in development including internal infrastructure that shapes how our build gets managed simultaneously. Alongside all of that, a dozen in-person selections meetings took place, the kind of focused, detail-oriented conversations that determine what a finished home actually looks and feels like.

From Our Team
Away from the work, the team scattered in the best way. The month opened with Fourth of July celebrations and closed with a lunch to mark the end of summer and send off the interns who had been part of the team. In between, trips were taken to Lake Geneva, Atlanta, Indiana, South Dakota, Croatia, and Lake Keowee. There were concerts, good meals, backyards, patios, and the kind of ordinary summer evenings that don't make it into any project update but matter all the same.

July, you were fantastic! August, let's go!
It's the people who make this place what it is, on the sites and off.
