Oakley Home Builders Ideas & Inspiration

Habitat for Humanity's ReStore facility gets a boost from Oakley

We have a passion for building homes, but at the root of that is a love for building communities. This love has led us to connect with strong community organizations to see how we can contribute to the wonderful work they are doing. DuPage Habitat for Humanity is one of those organizations that is doing so much good in the western suburbs. One of the biggest ways we can help them is by supporting their ReStore facility. This is a facility dedicated to helping the environment by repurposing household items and construction materials that would otherwise be thrown out and end up in a landfill. Habitat for Humanity ReStore’s main goal is to reuse, recycle and repurpose. ReStore collects, examines and sorts donated items and then sells these materials to the general public at greatly reduced prices. All profit from the sales funds the DuPage Habitat mission.

Oakley custom homes built on a demolished property - and our renovation projects provide amazing opportunities to source new materials for ReStore. We're proud that DuPage Habitat for Humanity has felt the impact of us connecting potential goods with their facility: “Oakley Home Builders is a great partner for DuPage Habitat for Humanity”, says Jim Fessler, DuPage Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore Manager. “Before they rehab a home, Oakley Home Builders welcome our volunteers to take out usable materials, allowing them a second life.  Since our partnership, we have received materials from 10-12 homes over the last two years and look forward to continuing this relationship.”

You can help too! Contributing to this organization can be simple. Donations can be dropped off at the Addison Restore Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. We offer a pickup service for select large donations. In addition to helping to reuse and recycle, your donation of building materials is tax deductible. Please visit www.dupagerestore.com or call 630-517.2080 for further information on ReStore and the many other ways you can help support this organization.
