It's been a wonderfully busy summer finishing up some projects in Downers Grove. But we're far from done with this town; we're honored to be kicking off a new home for another Downers Grove family.
INTRODUCING FARRAR COURT
After hearing many positive referrals from friends who had built with Oakley (thank you past clients!!!), this family approached us with the hope of building their dream home in Downers Grove. They already lived in the area and didn't want to go far. So when they found a lot they loved - they turned to us to make building on this unique property a reality.
Fast forward to the final plans and we're bringing their 4 BR, 3.5 BA home with a 3 car garage to life and are so thrilled to have them move in this winter. The exterior transitional design includes decorative wooden railings and board and batten detailing to infuse character. Inside the space has been custom designed by our architect to include an oversized breakfast space, bedrooms featuring unique vaulted ceiling details, and an impressive two story family room. This family was focused on making the spaces in their floor plan work for them. They passed on rooms that wouldn't get use in their household - and really thought through how they'd use space on each level. It shows in this traditional floorpan with some personal twists that balance making this home perfect for them, while still building from some common, time-tested design elements.
It's not all about the front curb appeal here. These clients have included some extra special outdoor spaces including a back deck off the family room and the covered back porch off the breakfast nook complete with outdoor fireplace. So many ways to enjoy this home inside and out - and we have no doubt this young family will do just that.
With brick-lined streets and proximity to so much in Downers Grove (Hillcrest Elementary, Herrick Middle School, Downers Grove North High School, town and train), there's so much to love about this location on Farrar Court. And because this house will be steps from our office, we already know the location is the perfect starting place for summer concerts at Fishel Park's bandshell, the annual Thanksgiving day Bonfield Express 5K and the Rotary Grove fest. We have a hunch this family is more than ready to have some fun in their new Downers Grove digs!
