It's always exciting for us to finish a project just in time for a family to spend the holidays in their new home. Our clients moved in to their home on Grand Avenue in Western Springs and we popped in to capture the finished spaces before they started decking the halls.
INTRODUCING GRAND AVE
This modern cottage exterior features both board and batten and lap siding, but organic materials of stone and timber take center stage. One of our favorite elements is the herringbone wood accent - it is a distinctive touch but blends seamlessly with the other materials.
Wood tones carry throughout this home, creating a warm and inviting feeling from the moment you walk in. The powder room adjacent to the entry features a gorgeous furniture-style vanity and a hexagon tile floor in just the right shade of green.
We're always fans of two-tone cabinetry paired with thick quartz countertops, and they were perfect choices for this light-filled kitchen. We tucked in a practical command center in the breakfast nook just beside the kitchen.
This home is complete with a mudroom, and of course we love when those incorporate checkerboard tile. Just outside this space is an elegant bar area tailored with herringbone marble tile.
Stepping into this master bath immediately gives a feeling of relaxation and it’s not just because of the heated floor (although it probably helps!). A spa experience is yours for the choosing with both a soaking tub and spacious rain shower.
Down the hall, you’ll find a Jack and Jill bathroom and the most darling little girl’s bathroom we’ve ever laid eyes on (those bow sconces!).
