This time last year, we shared a project kickoff for a Hinsdale home that we imagined would look just magical dressed in holiday style. We’re happy to share that our clients are celebrating their first holiday season in their new home and we thought it was perfect timing to invite you in for a tour!
INTRODUCING SIXTH STREET
Sitting atop a hill in Hinsdale’s coveted Woodlands neighborhood, this timeless gambrel home is quintessentially coastal. Taking inspiration from the idyllic cottages that line the shores of New England, we dreamed up an exterior defined by classic design elements and nautical accents.
Crisp whites are in full effect in this kitchen and we love the visual impact of floating shelves against the rich textured artisan tile backsplash.
To balance the bright kitchen, warm-toned stained cabinetry was selected for the prep kitchen and pantry. A light-filled dining area was incorporated in the floor plan and to give this young family a convenient space to gather around a table together. The design details in this room are a brilliant example of how a casual space can still be elegant, with a soaring vaulted ceiling tailored in tongue and groove paneling and finished with a gorgeous beaded chandelier.
Custom millwork also plays a starring role from floor to ceiling in the family room. A touch of shiplap adds to the serene, relaxed feel of this home’s interior.
The coastal color palette comes to life in this bar area, with light wood shelves complementing navy cabinetry.
Sherwin Williams Sea Serpent makes a bold statement in the first floor office. Just across the hall, powder room fixtures give a lovely nod to nautical design.
This first floor is complete with a spacious mudroom tiled in Chicago Brick. We also worked in a practical dog wash station for this pup-loving family.
We are truly smitten with how much character flows through these interior spaces thanks to millwork. Thoughtful trim choices were made throughout the home and the stairway is no exception.
Sun beams in to welcome you to the second floor. In the laundry room, a plaid patterned floor tile adds a playful touch.
Each of the guest bathrooms on this floor were designed in seaside tones but finishes reflect their own distinct personalities.
The last stop on our tour is this sophisticated master bath where refined brass fixtures accompany the luxe, spa aesthetic.
