Over the past couple of years, one exterior style we’ve seen capture the hearts of a great number of our clients is the English Tudor. Steeped in historical elegance, this architectural style has the potential to inspire both traditional and contemporary approaches. One of our recent modern spins on the English Tudor is nestled at the end of a private cul-de-sac on Clay Street in Hinsdale. Today we are excited to invite you in for a tour, so come on inside!
INTRODUCING CLAY STREET
This home’s exterior embraces a neutral color palette and incorporates a number of picturesque details that reflect Tudor style, from the coveted arched doorway to the steep pitched gables with vent detail.
The interior of this home balances clean lines with cozy wood tones and charming details, boasting spaces that feel refined yet also warm and welcoming.
Our clients were inspired by kitchens with two tone cabinetry, and the finished space serves as an example of how light and dark cabinetry can be a perfect combination. One of our favorite touches in this space is how the slab backsplash incorporates a shelf, creating a distinctive detail that is as functional as it is beautiful.
Just beside the kitchen sits a casual dining area flooded with natural light thanks to a prominently placed arched window. The adjacent butler’s pantry features floating shelves with a beadboard backdrop.
Fireplace surrounds offer a multitude of options for clients to customize their space, and this selection serves as a fitting choice for this inviting family room.
The first floor is finished with a study and a sitting room flanking the foyer.
Upstairs, each of the home’s four bedrooms incorporate thoughtful ceiling treatments. Classic checkerboard floors bring a touch of timeless character to the laundry space.
In the master bath, crisp white cabinetry and clean lines work seamlessly to create a relaxing retreat.
A sleek bar is waiting to greet you on the lower level of this home, which also includes a rec room, exercise space and a guest suite.
This guest bathroom is tailored with elegant brass fixtures but still packs a punch of personality thanks to colorful shower tile.
If you're hoping for more Tudor charm, we’re happy to announce that there will be plenty to share this year as we finish up projects in River Forest and Hinsdale and break ground in Downers Grove and Elmhurst.
