Farmhouses have been a highly sought-after exterior design for a number of years now, and we’ve been fortunate to see so many different approaches come about from this beloved style. Our clients for this River Forest build took inspiration from the European countryside to dream up this Belgian-style farmhouse for their young family. This home was completed earlier this year and we are excited to invite you inside as we unveil the finished spaces.
INTRODUCING JACKSON AVENUE
Painted brick was a natural choice for this front elevation and our clients selected a gorgeous soft white that plays well with contrasting trim elements. Shed dormers give a lovely nod to European farmhouse architecture.
The foyer offers a stunning introduction into the interiors of this home with beautifully crafted oak doors flanking the entry.
A vanity in a blue-green hue makes a colorful statement in this elegant powder room.
Fireplace design is an area where customization options allow for for each client to take a truly unique approach. This mitered stone surround and mantel couldn’t be a more fitting choice for this family room.
Oversized windows were prominently incorporated across the rear elevation of the home, drenching the entire first floor in natural light.
Just across from the sunroom, a glass-encased dining room features stunning pool views.
Stained oak cabinetry takes center stage in this kitchen and it’s the custom hood that steals the show, creating a remarkable focal point just above the stove alcove.
The kitchen has two charming arched doorways, one leading to a practical pantry space and the other to a thoughtfully-designed mudroom.
Make your way up this sunny stairway to the second floor where you’ll find four bedrooms, three baths and one of the most cheerful laundry spaces we ever did see.
This jack-and-jill bath marries a neutral palette with a punchy pop of color just around the corner.
We’ll wrap up our interior tour with a master bath with so many unforgettable design details, from the arched mirrored nook to the custom inlay doors and the rich texture of the shower’s artisan tile.
We’ve saved a favorite view for last to showcase the beauty of this secluded backyard oasis. Both a pool and a separate green space were incorporated into this deep lot to allow for this family to enjoy the best of both worlds. It was a joy to partner with these clients on their build and we look forward to seeing them fill their home with many years of memories! Stay tuned for even more Home Tours still to come this fall in Downers Grove and Hinsdale.
