It’s a new season and just the time to introduce you to a few upcoming projects we have in the works! The first is just a stone’s throw away from downtown Downers Grove in Pierce Downer. This highly-coveted neighborhood is known for its quintessential tree-lined streets, close-knit community, idyllic parks, and ideal walkability to elementary, middle and high schools. Our clients had their hearts set on staying in Downers Grove and were dreaming of a Pierce Downer location. They began working with our team on a lot search and when we found a beautiful oversized property on Wallbank Avenue, they were quick to take advantage of the opportunity to make it their own.
INTRODUCING WALLBANK AVENUE
We are thrilled to partner with the talented architectural team at Schwarz Lewis Design Group for the design of this home. Our clients had gathered a bunch of remarkable inspiration and the Schwarz Lewis team went to work designing an exterior that celebrates traditional English Tudor architecture while integrating modern elements and materials. We will admit that we fell for the timeless charm and character of this home from the very first sketch and truly can’t wait to see it come to life for these clients.
Our clients envisioned this build as their forever home, and endeavored to design spaces that would grow with them as their needs change over time. They looked forward to hosting family gatherings, so the floor plan has been crafted to encourage ease of entertaining while also incorporating a seamless transition to outdoor living spaces. A warm, welcoming interior aesthetic will be created by embracing a neutral color palette and weaving in charming touches such as arched doorways and organic wood accents.
Thoughtful details greet you from the moment you step into this home. Just beside the foyer sits a sun-drenched den with soaring oversized windows and custom built-ins. Our favorite element of this flex space is that it leads out to a private front terrace, making it for an outdoor retreat for the workday or a quiet spot to sit for a morning coffee. An elegantly appointed kitchen anchors the main living space in this home, opening to an expansive family room and light-filled formal dining space. Arched doorways flank the kitchen’s range wall, each leading to a mudroom and a dirty pantry. A chef’s office with a separate sink and wine storage was tucked in just beside the dining area for convenient entertaining.
