If you told us November would bring 75-degree weather we likely wouldn’t have believed you, but we are loving these surprisingly warm days! Although we wish they would last a bit longer, we’re busy planning for the impending colder days as we work quickly to break ground on a number of projects before winter. One of those is the project kickoff we’d like to share with you today, a new build in Hinsdale on Bruner Street.
If Bruner Street sounds familiar, it might be because we recently finished a lovely coastal-style home on a sweet corner lot. As we were building that home, it just so happened that the property next door also became available. We initially listed the home as a spec and it was purchased by a growing young family from out-of-state looking to put down roots in Hinsdale. They were enthusiastic about the opportunity to customize the home and we were thrilled for the chance to bring their vision to life.
INTRODUCING BRUNER STREET
The transitional design of the exterior pairs traditional materials with modern elements of clean vertical lines and pitched rooflines. Painted white brick and siding was chosen to contrast with darker trim and roofing. We also love how the classic touches of a charming arched doorway and inviting side covered porch amp up curb appeal.
It was evident from the beginning that our clients were passionate about the interior design of their home and we were fortunate to see a collection of stunning inspiration that they had carefully curated over the years. They shared an organic modern design style and incorporated Spanish influences (think arched openings and swoon-worthy statement tile). Organic modern design is achieved by taking minimalist style and warming it up with neutral tones and natural elements such as stone and wood. It inspires living spaces that meet a perfect balance between sophistication and comfort. Interior selections are well underway and we can’t wait to share a few sneak peeks with you soon.
The layout of this home was thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of a busy family with young children. At the heart of the home is an expansive open kitchen and family room. Our clients decided to forego a formal dining room for a more casual window-filled breakfast nook and we can envision it being just the place to spend cozy weekend mornings. On the second floor, you’ll find 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms and a bonus third floor includes an additional bedroom/office suite. A finished basement features a rec room, exercise room, full bathroom and a flex space that could be used as a playroom or extra bedroom if needed.
This home is one of several Hinsdale builds we look forward to finishing next year along with additional custom projects in Glen Ellyn, River Forest, Downers Grove, and Burr Ridge. We are excited to be breaking ground on our Grant Street spec home in the next few weeks - it is currently available for 2023 delivery and more information can be found here.
